HAVEit – First Integration

HAVEit – First Integration

From the 13th to the 18th of september 2010 the first project integration for EXPLINOVO took place at DLR (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt). It happened in the frame of the work package 4100 of the HAVEit project. Besides DLR, the ILS (Institute für Luftfahrtsysteme) departement of the University of Stuttgart was also present. The main goal of the integration was the taking into operation of the XCCs (the central duo duplex computer platform) and the FlexRay-to-CAN gateways linking every subsystem to the XCCs. The targeted application is made of  a Steer-by-Wire (1E/1M) system with a virtual copilot for enhanced driver assistant systems. It allows rapid prototyping for Drive-by-Wire applications.

At the end of the week the communication has been validated at the signal level. The physical layers of the two FlexRay Clusters have been also analysed and optimized.

The first driving tests with the vehicle (VW Passat) will be started during the fourth quarter of 2010.
